The googlar option

I read somewhere online that google gets something around 150,000 applications per year which just seems crazy. I also remember hearing the ILM received something like 30,000 applications per year during its zenith just before Episode One.

During the 10 years I’ve been with ILM - off and on - I’ve always seen an exciting amount of development and advancement in the craft, but it seems we’re really running out of problems to solve aside from the more basic business principles of a) making money and b) having fun doing it, which all companies face. The new world is now Animated Features and Games.

So, finally I’ve poked my head outside the crazy insular world of visual effects and asked: where are all the best people? Where can I learn more and build something I like? The answers seemed to point to Google.

Since I didn’t really know how to tailor my resume for them, I just sent it as is.

I’m not sure if anything will happen from it, but sometimes you just have to get it out of my system.
