Lazy Sunday
Sunday began as all good sundays should: at a Cafe’ with good coffee and the NY Times close at hand. Ideally, it takes two cups of coffee and two hours to finish the paper, and if I’m ahead of schedule I try to burn through as much of the Economist as possible. All this should happen before noon.
After being on the road for six months amd because spring has now arrived, I thought it would be a good time to get some things back in order in my life. So I had a 2pm haircut appointment at the fancy Chakra Aveda Salon near Union square which I found on CitySeach.com(rated 9.8). I normally go for the $15 SuperCut type place but I think its time to leave those days behind me. It’s time to try and look and feel great. The stylist did a great job and intuitively understood how to deal with my somewhat problematic hair. It was one of the few times I left a salon really happy, so they will be getting my $55 ever six weeks.
I wandered around the Union square area afterwards and fter living in Singapore, couldnt help but be underwhelmed by it. Everything from the grafitti and dirty streets to the homeless on the streets bothered me! I miss Takashimaya and its two basement levels of food all in a sparkling and shiny massive mall named Ngee Ann City.
I spent a bit of time posting some new photos to my flickr site (www.flickr.com/photos/mtbouchard). In reviewing them, it made me wish I had taken more, especially in Cambodia which feels like it was a dream now.
I watched the entire week of the Daily show (from iTunes) during the evening then went to check on my renders at work last night.
Its always a bit peaceful being at work when no one else is around, only the statues of yoda and stormtroopers to watch over me.
