Zouk Out

A group from work went to this really cool beach party called “Zouk Out” named after a famous club here in Singapore. Basically its a 18,000 person beach party with 5 stages of varying music. We left around 10pm and didn’t get in until nearly 1, so that was a bit frustrating. Once we got in though it was a lot of fun. I was really looking forward to seeing Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren, who played from 3-5am.
The beach scene was really cool and it wasn’t too crowded or too loud. Singapore at night is around 75F which is pretty nice. So everyone was in tshirts and some of the women in bikini tops. At around 4am it started to rain a bit and the wind picked up a little…but with the music and the lasers it really added to a slightly surreal environment, so myself and a buddy from work Calvin decided see how close we could get to the stage and just surround ourselves with the music and people.
Around 4:45am we were all tired and the rest of the group SMSed us that it was time to go. We met back in the tent where everyone was seeking shelter and made our wake to the buses that would take us off the island and desposit us in the middle of no-where. After waiting about 30 mins we finally found a taxi and I finally got home around 6am. Slept til 1pm and woke up feeling great.
